Research

Our research focusses on microbial interactions in a wide variety of environments and contexts, including innate and adaptive immunity in acute and persistent infections, microbial pathways in the phyllosphere, host pathogen interactions in Salmonella infections, microbial communities across a broad range of ecosystems, biosynthesis of natural products from bacterial symbionts, fungal defense mechanisms and interactions of bacteria with phages. Furthermore, we study the immune response in humans in physological and pathological conditions as well as the fine-tuning of immune responses in the central nervous system.

Our research groups show a high level of interaction and integration.
