Current Project
In my project, I am investigating the genetic basis of diverse virulence phenotypes of Zymoseptoria tritici. In particular, I am studying the role of an avirulence effector whose recognition by certain wheat varieties triggers partial resistance. I also try to understand how certain Z. tritici strains evolve to escape from this recognition.
Research interests
- Host-isolate specificity
- Molecular components of gene-for-gene interactions
- Effector evolution
- Effector regulation
