Additional information
Research area
The major emphasis of the research in the group of Annette Oxenius is the analysis of cellular immunity in acute and persistent viral infections. A first area of research focuses on the molecular, cellular and functional characterization of virus-specific T and B cell responses. A second area of research addresses the question of how T cells differentiate and diversify during immune responses. A third area investigates the mechanisms that regulate of T cell responses.
Since 2012 Annette Oxenius is full Professor for Immunology Associate Professor (before associate Professor (2007-2012) and Assistant Professor (2002-2007) in at ETH Zurich.
She was born on November 10th 1968 and went to school in Zürich.
From 1988-1993 she studied biochemistry, molecular biology and immunology at the University of Zürich. Thereafter she performed her dissertation at the Institute for Experimental Immunology in the laboratory of Hans Hengartner and Rolf Zinkernagel. In 1997 she obtained her Ph.D. at the ETH Zurich.
After a short postdoctoral period at the same institute, she moved to Oxford, UK, where she was a postdoc in the lab of Rodney Phillips from 1999-2002.
